For Passport applications by mail-Adult Passport Renewals (DS-82 only): Online fee payment at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/1156527186/ . After successfully paying the fee, you must PRINT out the electronic payment confirmation you receive via email and include it in the application package you send to the Embassy.
For Passport Applications in Person-Minors, First Adult Passport, First-Time Applicants, Lost, Stolen or Damaged Passports (DS-11 only):

After successfully paying the fee, you must PRINT out the electronic payment confirmation you receive via email and bring it along with the application package to the Embassy or Consulate. If you are paying online for an emergency passport, pay with a credit card instead of other payment methods to avoid processing delays.
Cash For payments in cash, please bring the exact amount in U.S. dollars (we cannot make change for payments in U.S. dollars) or the equivalent fees in Euros (change is available for Euros).

- Credit Cards We accept major credit cards, U.S. dollars and Euros. Virtual cards/contactless payments are not accepted.
Payment by personal checks and travelers’ checks is not accepted.
In general, to apply for a U.S. passport, you must:
- Fill out the appropriate application form;
- Provide evidence of U.S. citizenship;
- Provide supporting documents;
- Provide a photo;
- Pay the appropriate fee; and
- Submit the application.

Appointments are scheduled online.

You must bring your printed appointment confirmation page, completed forms, and original documents to your interview.
When scheduling the appointment, you should make a written note of the following:
- The appointment confirmation number generated.
- The date and time for your appointment. You will not receive email confirmation of the appointment date.
- The appointment password. You will require the password if you need to cancel the appointment. No record of your password is kept at the Embassy.
Each applicant requiring a service at the Embassy must have a separate appointment.

When you book the appointment, it is vital that you print or note down your password and the appointment date and time. You will not receive an automated appointment confirmation email or reminder emails.
Appropriate application forms for the required passport service can be found on the Embassy’s website at: https://es.usembassy.gov/passports/
If using the online version of the application form, once you have answered all the questions the form will generate as a PDF file. You must print the application form as it cannot be submitted to the Embassy electronically. If you have difficulty with the online application form, there is a downloadable PDF version which can be printed and completed by hand using black ink.

If no appointment is available when you first check, please check the calendar periodically for any newly released appointments.
Appointments are released periodically. The appointment calendar operates in real time so will show any available appointments, including appointments available due to cancellations. Appointments will not be released on a specific date or time so please regularly check the calendar for availability.
