If you were advised on the day of your interview that your application was approved, you should allow approximately six to eight weeks for your passport and child’s CRBA/passport to be received from the U.S. print facility. Due to high demand, American Citizen Services units are unable to provide routine status updates for applications within the standard processing timeframe. Standard processing times for all services are approximate. Times quoted should be used only as a guide.

Children aged 16 and over may sign their own passports. On a passport for a child under 16, a parent should print the child’s full name on the signature line, sign their name next to the printed name of their child, and note their relation to the child. For an example, please visit: About Your New U.S. Passport and click on “Sign your passport.”
Your old passport will be canceled and returned to you with your new one. Stamps and visas are unaffected when a passport is canceled.
